I've done some thinking about this blog and about what it means to me. This blog is how I plan to record and share my journey to become my best, healthiest and happiest self by my 25th birthday. Yet I don't really share it. I only hint to who I am... and I don't tell family and friends, those closest to me, about what I'm doing. Why is that? read more » |

First, let me explain the reason for my decision: This morning, as I always do Thursday through Sunday, I was exercising at home on my step machine while watching "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" - very cute movie, by the way. Well, I know my machine can make very loud "thump" noises when the step hits the ground, so I usually place a rug under the steps to cushion the impact. This morning was no different - I was exercising with a folded rug under the steps. However. About 37 minutes into my exercise, I heard three distinct, angry, loud THUDS from the apartment above me. Occasionally, I will hear my upstairs neighbor dragging his furniture (?), walking, etc., and I pay him no mind, but this time, the noise sounded like it was directed specifically at me. read more » |

<!--StartFragment--> Some of the major goals of exercise are to improve muscle tone, strength, and endurance. All of this is made possible by, and requires, the body's energy production-and-use system. Central to that system is a complex molecule called ATP, Adenosine Triphosphate. ATP is a core element of a process known in biochemical studies as (ready for it?): the tricarboxylic acid cycle, or the Kreb's cycle. But don't worry about the complicated names. The basic ideas are very simple. read more » |

Good afternoon! Did you know adults who do not participating in strength training types of exercise lose 5% of their metabolic rate (the rate the body burns calories) every decade of life which will reflect in an increase in body fat. This may not seem like much but the years go by fast! Therefore, to increase the metabolic rate add strength training to your fitness routine and this will help control body fat. Have a lovely rainy day! Cheers, Angie |

I just spoke with Chelsea at the Oregon Weight Loss Surgery Center in Portland. They have three different plans to chose from and perform surgery in three separate hospitals - so you have options. They work with Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital, Southwest Washington Medical Center, or The Pearl Women's Center. Their prices for self-pays range between $19,500 and $26,000. With that fee, you get one year of post-surgical care - meaning, you don't have to pay for any of your fills for the first year. read more » |
